About WOOFF:

WOOFF (Welfare of Our Furry Friends) was formed in 1999. Our team of dedicated volunteers help make the life of the animals at Loaves and Fishes, a shelter for homeless people, better by providing:
  • Food for the animals (through solicitation)
  • Collars and leashes
  • Transportation to vet appointments for both dogs and cats
  • Assistance to UC Davis vet students who provide vaccinations and checkups for the animals at Loaves and Fishes
  • Education to the homeless on "how to care for their animal"
  • Continual improvements the kennel
  • Flea and tick medication
  • Payment for temporary boarding for abandoned animals
  • Re-homing of animals who have been abandoned
  • Spaying and Neutering
Animals of the homeless, like their humans, are always on the move.

While the animal's owners are eating, taking showers and using the other services offered by Loaves and Fishes, the dogs and cats are cared for at the kennel (from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). Each dog and cat has his own crate, fresh water and food. While at the kennel, the animal is in a clean environment with shelter and an opportunity to rest. In the summer we have misters and fans going to keep them comfortable and in the winter we have heaters.

WOOFF will strive to continue to improve the lives of the animals of the homeless.
